If you want luxury experiences on your vacation, Dubai is the city that can make it happen. From exotic spices to personalized shoes and from scrumptious cuisine to desert adventures, Dubai offers plenty of opportunities to keep discerning travelers happy.
Here is the Dubai Travel Guide for First Time Visitors!
While visiting Dubai last year, I took notes of all the key things which led to this post. I don’t know much about you but I am pretty sure on this point that researching for the items all over the internet to make your vacation interesting can be quite frustrating for you just like me. Because no one of us has enough time to go through an entire Dubai travel book and sort out the decision making points from the futile features. Therefore, I have written this Dubai travel blog for my readers. This post is a long list of tips that will cover nearly everything you need to know to visit Dubai first time.
- Visa –
You need not a visa to go to Dubai if you have a US visa.
- Getting there –
Getting there to the land is no longer a tricky task as long as you book your Dubai luxury tour packages from a reputed travel agency. Even if you are not travelling to Dubai directly, you can take advantage of stopping in Dubai on the way while travelling to other cities of UAE provided that you opt for a travel package that offers free layovers in Dubai.
- When to go –
Dubai is HOT! So, winter would be the best time to plan a trip to Dubai. Ideally, the best time to head out to this Arabic land is from November to March. Since winter is the tourist season, the price of Dubai luxury tour packages is expected to be a bit higher. However, if you are tight on budget, you can prefer summer months to plan a vacation. Enjoying the nightlife of Dubai during the summer is an experience of lifetime. Don’t miss it.
- Best day to get around in the city –
Just like any major city in the world, Dubai is a crowded city. There is also rush hour traffic and the work week in Dubai is Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday are the weekend days here. Traffic is much lighter on the weekends. So, if you are visiting the city for just a couple of weeks, book your Dubai luxury tour packages for Friday and Saturday.
- How to Travel –
There are several sorts of transportation means dedicated to take you to and from your desired destination. If you are looking for a budget travel, booking a regular taxi would be a wise idea, if you are the one who prefers comfort more to the money, traveling in fancy Lexus taxis can be a better choice and if you are the one who prefers nothing but time and wants to steer clear from sluggish traffic, consider catching a metro. Dubai has a very clean and easy to use Metro system. During the weekdays and rush hour, metro may be your best bet based on the traffic.
- What to Wear –
Even if Dubai is an Arabic city and hijab and abaya are the traditional clothing of the land, you are not bound to wear any specific kind of attire, you are free to put on anything depends on your interests and comfort. I even put on my bikini when playing with water on the beach. The only time I wore the traditional dress was visiting the Grand Mosque.
- Where to stay –
Dubai has no dearth of options when it comes to accommodation. From luxurious hotels to cheap villas, there is a diverse range of options which are sure to suit every specific budget. Irrespective of which short of staying option you prefer to stay in, choose it close to the best locations of Dubai like The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Marina with Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach filled with beach resorts, shops and restaurants and so on. In this way, you will not have to spend too much of your time travelling when it comes to visit the major attraction of the city. Based on your interests, you may prefer to stay closer to one of these landmarks.
- No romance in public –
Making public displays of affection are not allowed. You might get arrested for kissing and doing any other raunchy activities in public while in Dubai. Holding hands and a peck on the cheek are fine.
- Language –
Language is never a bar when travelling in Dubai. You can easily communicate with people here in English. The street signs, menus, basically all the signage are in both Arabic and English.
- Money, Money, Money!
Their currency is called AED that stands for Arab Emirate Dirham. The current conversion is 1 Dirham equals 0.27 USD. You can exchange money on arrival at the airport but if you want to get a slightly better value of exchange, exchange it at the malls.
- Food –
Dubai is known for multicultural cuisine and pretty much anything you want to eat, you will find here. The food is fresh and it is delicious! Since this is a Muslim region, do not expect to find pork in the restaurants. Popular dishes include shawarma, hummus, curried dishes, basmati rice and marinated whole fish. There is plenty of seafood, lamb, beef, and chicken. Dates are also very popular.
When you made it to the end! I know the information mentioned here on Dubai luxury tour packages will be a big help for you to plan your Dubai vacation, especially for first-time visitors. These are just a few of the best ways to live it up when you are in this Arabic land.
